Summer Intern Opportunity - Teaching Assistant Internship

The Teaching Assistant for the 2026 Summer Enrichment Program plays a key role in supporting student behavior during classroom and day camp activities. This includes providing real-time feedback to support students’ work productivity and behavior. This role is ideal for college students majoring in: Education, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing assignments, classroom materials, and instructional resources.

  • Support the teacher in classroom management and organization.

  • Provide constructive performance feedback.

  • Deliver small-group instruction and individualized student support.

  • Help with project preparation, classroom setup, and maintaining a structured learning environment.

  • Reinforce classroom/ camp rules and provide immediate feedback when rules are violated.

  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and engagement

  • And HAVE FUN!

Details:

The summer internship dates are 6/22 - 7/31.

The 20-hour work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm or 11:30am-3:30pm.

The hourly compensation rate through One Summer Chicago was $15 last year, so we expect there to be a slight increase or the same for this year.
